Why Guardian Homes Matter
As preservation breeders, we are committed to the conservation of British Bulldogs and Chow Chows for the enjoyment of future generations.
To do this correctly, the gene pool of each breed needs to be kept at a level that provides proper genetic diversity — which in turn supports the health and longevity of every individual dog.
The truly committed breeders not only share bloodlines but also invest in importing semen and dogs from around the world. But even this is not always sufficient to keep the gene pool as diverse as it needs to be.
That's where Guardian Homes come in.
What Is a Guardian Home?
Guardian Home families are individuals or families who would love to have one of our precious dogs join their household and live with them as a beloved pet — while also being available to us for showing and/or breeding purposes.
Puppy Placement
Similar to a Guide Dog raising program — except you don't have to give the puppy back permanently. We place a puppy with your family and "borrow" them back from time to time for shows.
If the puppy grows into a quality dog that should be included in the gene pool, we also borrow them for breeding. If not, the dog is desexed and remains with your family as a pet for life.
We cover: All costs related to showing and breeding
You cover: General pet care costs (food, vet, etc.)
Adult Placement
An adult dog retiring from the show ring — but still needed in the gene pool — joins your family to live out their days in a loving home. They are made available from time to time for breeding purposes only.
This is a wonderful option for families who prefer a settled, trained adult dog rather than raising a puppy from scratch.

Every dog placed through the program is fully health tested to our rigorous standards.
Contract Protected
All Guardian Home families sign a clear contract that spells out commitments and protections for both parties.
Is This For You?
Being a Guardian Home is not for everyone. You need to be willing to allow your dog to come for “holidays” at Majestueux from time to time.
Ideal Guardian Home families are:

- ✦Committed to providing a loving, safe home environment
- ✦Understanding of the occasional need to return the dog for shows or breeding
- ✦Willing to maintain regular communication with us
